CARD TYPES

Every card belongs to one several different categories, each serving a distinct battlefield role.

FORGES

Forges are reality-bending tools that create and reshape resources into immensely powerful skills and abilities.

SOURCES

Sources are the lifeblood of your army. The streamlined resource system is simple to understand with endless complexity.

CREATURES

Creatures are your combat units, from simple beasts and soldiers to all-powerful gods and beyond.

ARTIFICES

Artifices are one-time use special effects that vary from defensive sorceries to destructive attacks and more.

AUGMENTS

Augments act like equipment for other cards. These attachments turn anything in your army into a specialized unit.

RELICS

Relics defend your battlefield and imbue passive, ongoing effects to your Creatures and other support cards.

TRAPS

Force your opponent to second-guess their attacks with Traps and punish them when they choose incorrectly.

STRUCTURES

Structures are fortifications that provide various effects while in play, bolstering your side of the battlefield.

CATALYSTS

Special cards that begin the game in-play to build your strategy around, from passive bonuses to powerful abilities.

FACTIONS

The world of Axion Forge is split in various different Factions, each with its own unique theme and playstyle. You are not limited to using any specific one and may combine any and all Factions together when building a deck! The initial release of Axion Forge contains seven distinct Factions.

MECHANICA
Industrial ingenuity & mechanized warfare.

Mechanica wields technological ingenuity, excelling at building momentum over time through resource efficiency and modular enhancement. Synergy makes their cards stronger together. Adapt, improvise, overcome.

PRIMAL
Nature’s wrath, elemental storms, and savage beasts.

Raw and untamed, Primal harnesses the ferocity of nature itself through unrelenting aggression. They gain power when damaged, and many cards have effects that trigger when Attacked. Harness the power of the wild.

ECLIPSE
Celestial power and time itself.

Eclipse harnesses control through manipulation, delayed effects, and disruption. Their limitless power of the heavens allows them to see the future, altering turn order, and outright negating actions.

DOMINION
Military oppression and martial law.

Driven by order and discipline, Dominion wields total control through sheer might. They utilize control mechanics and heavily fortified forces to exert constant pressure through overwhelming force.

ABYSS
Chaotic entropy and demonic corruption.

From the depths of chaos, Abyss harnesses dark power. They thrive on sacrificing their own for devastating effects. Destroying allies activate powerful Abilities, summon stronger Demons, and deal unavoidable damage. Entropy and apocalyptic destruction are their tools.

THE ANCIENT
Mythic guardians of order and power.

Guardians of old, The Ancient focuses on creating legendary units that grow stronger over time. Epic might & timeless resilience allows them to wield time-honored magic, mythical beasts, and heroic weaponry to uphold the balance of the realms.

XENO
Alien forces and strange technologies.

With strange abilities and unpredictable powers, the Xeno are mysterious and otherworldly. Their unique skills and mutating powers cause unpredictability and high risk situations. Xeno taps into alien forces, cosmic energies, and advanced civilizations.

CARD RARITY

Every card has a rarity relating to its overall power and utility. To ensure decks aren't loaded entirely with extremely powerful cards, higher rarity cards have limitations to keep them in balance with the rest of a deck while still remaining valuable.

DECKBUILDING PRINCIPALS

Axion Forge decks contain at least 50 cards. Build your deck with a balance of card types, ensuring you have the right mix of resources, offence, defense, and support cards.

Thanks to the streamlined resource system, you are able to play any card from any Faction using a single currency: Sparks. There is no need for different resources for different Factions, allowing you to build your deck exactly how you want. The variety of Factions and card types you choose is entirely up to you!
