Narrative Overview

For countless eons, the Realms existed as separate, self-contained realities divided by the protective boundary of the Veil. Then the Convergence damaged the Veil and opened Rifts into the Nexus, another dimension beyond ordinary space and time. The Realms isolation was broken and a single gateway stood between them all.

The Nexus is a physical reflection of all reality, where unrealized possibilities take tangible form. Found in the Nexus are Axions: dark matter fragments of pure potential that have not yet been realized, waiting for something to force them into existence. That something is Forging; a rare ability to shape an Axion's potential into a coherent outcome. When a possibility carries enough consequence to alter the course of reality, an Anchor is formed. What happens to an Anchor then becomes a Realm's established truth.

Only metaphysical entities known as Shapers can Forge. Born of and tethered to the Nexus, Shapers gather forces from across the Realms of reality, competing to determine what becomes real. To Shapers, nothing is permanent. Their Resonance is what tethers them to existence, unraveling with every blow. But enduring is not enough. Dominance is the true measure of a Shaper's power: every rival unmade and every possibility forced into truth. 

But power in the Nexus comes at a cost. Every act of Forging strengthens a Shaper even though it could also destroy them, either from a rival or a collapse of existence itself. 

The Nexus recognizes neither morality nor tradition. It does not favor noble intentions nor ruthless ambition. It recognizes only one truth: inevitability.
